Performance, structure and kinetics of Pd catalyst supported in Ba modified γ-Al2O3 for low temperature wet methane oxidation

Low temperature wet methane oxidation is critical for the after-treatment of exhaust from vehicles powered with natural gas-fueled engine, which always operated at low temperatures and high water vapor concentrations. Herein, Pd/Ba-Al2O3 catalysts were prepared, different amount Ba as promoter. It was found that superior to reference Ba-free Pd/Al2O3 catalyst in terms conversion, intrinsic activity hydrothermal stability. Based on sufficient characterization results, location, size, valence state diverse properties Pd regulated by revealed. The benefit addition catalytic performance demonstrated be derived favorable location inside porous channel enhancement capability O2 activation. This work can provide insights into effect promoters catalysts, offer an avenue designing highly efficient catalyst, lay a foundation application vehicles.
